Mike's TBI Journey

Hi friends, Aaron and I are fundraising on behalf of Mike. On December 31st, 2021, Mike had a freak accident causing a severe brain injury. The CT scan showed a subdural hematoma on the left side of his brain and scattered subarachnoid hemorrhages through out. Thirty seven hours after being admitted, he had to undergo a craniectomy on January 2nd, 2022 to relieve the pressure on his brain and evacuate some of the blood. Here we are a year later and, after having the left side of his skull replaced on February 25th, he developed an infection and it was removed again on April 8th, and still has not been replaced. He has not been able to work since the original accident happened, and although a previous fundraiser helped tremendously, he is now at risk of losing his phone service and internet and is also facing eviction. He applied for disability SSI and was denied, and is now working through the appeal process, which can take months.

He is in need of funds to move into his own place and pay deposits, etc... as well as get caught up on other bills.
