Update: I appreciate the out pouring of support I have received thus far. I received a call today from the 50 Legs Organization letting me know that because I need to have both of my legs fitted for new prosthetics it will take 2 weeks.  This was an unexpected change in plans but is causing the expense of the trip to increase so I reluctantly increaed the goal of the fundraiser. I really appreciate all the generosity of all my friends and family. 

Hi my name Mike. I am hear to ask for a little bit of help.You see I was given an once in a lifetime opportunity to get state of the art prosthetic legs. I would love to take advantage of but its in Florida. The organization that is giving me this opportunity is called 50 Legs. They are a well know and respected organization in the amputation community. If I am able to fulfill this opportunity it will benefit me for many years to come as I will continue to be a recipient of the newest technology in prosthetics as it becomes available. I just need a little traveling money. I really I wish didn't have to ask for help but this is my last resort. I really appreciate anyone who is available to help me through this journey.
