Mike's Medical Fight: Your Help Needed
Donación protegida
On Thursday May 1st, our friend Michelle Jones received a phone call from her husband Mike saying he didn’t feel quite right. He was experiencing numbness on his tongue and right side of his head. On advice from Michelle he got in his truck and drove himself up to the fire station in Red Feather Lakes. Within the 5 minutes that it took him to drive himself his symptoms had gone from mild numbness to him not even being able to walk. As he tried to get out of his truck he had fallen and was unable to move. A couple out walking their dog noticed him. Mike had enough sense to yell out that he needed help and that he was having a stroke. They immediately called 911 and requested assistance. Within minutes help had arrived and a few minutes later he was loaded into a helicopter and was airlifted out of Red Feather. Within 12 minutes he was at Medical Center of the Rockies where it was discovered he had a brain bleed that was located in the brain stem. Mike was admitted to the surgical icu unit where he has remained. On top of that they have been unable to control his blood pressure and he has no feeling on his right side. As a self employed carpenter, Mike's family is facing an unknown amount of recovery time and income loss. When released from the hospital he will have several months of rehab and therapy.
Mike and Michelle are friends to many people. Let's try to ease the financial burdens they will surely face. Like Mike and Michelle, my husband and I are members of Fort Collins Elks Lodge #804. Mike has been a bartender at the Lodge for years. We will band together and support them the best we can. If you can't help financially, please pray for Mikes health and Michelle's strength. Thank you.
