Help My Father, Mike Evenson, Recover from a Massive Heart Attack

Hi everyone,

My name is Shannon Deaver and I'm reaching out to you today with a heavy heart. My dad, Mike, recently suffered massive lung failure (fluid in his lungs) and heart failure, which they diagnosed as a heart attack with 90% blockage in his main artery. He is facing significant medical expenses to ensure he gets the best care possible.

On Saturday the 4th of January, our lives were turned upside down when my father experienced severe lung and heart failure. The doctors diagnosed it as a heart attack with 90% blockage in his main artery, with his heart only functioning at 15% during his hospitalization. In addition to these issues, his oxygen levels dropped to 50 and he almost died on the way to the hospital. If it weren't for the paramedics driving as fast as they could, he might not have made it. The Dr. said he was at his end. It truly is a miracle from God that he is still here to fight!

My dad, Mike, has always put others first, especially his family and his students. As a dedicated teacher, he has touched the lives of countless students, always going the extra mile to ensure their success. At home, he is the backbone of our family, always putting others before himself. He has worked tirelessly to provide for us and has been a source of strength and support for everyone around him. Now, it's our turn to support him in his time of need.

This situation has been incredibly hard on our family, especially his 9 grandchildren and 4 children, who adore him. Seeing him in such a vulnerable state has been heartbreaking for all of us. We are doing everything we can to help him recover, but we need your support.

Financial Strain: My dad and my mom (his wife) are on a fixed income, relying on Social Security to cover their basic needs. However, his heart medication alone costs $500 a month, which is a significant burden on their limited resources. The additional medical bills, ongoing care, and future unexpected medical bills from his hospital stay, tests, and procedures are overwhelming for our family.

Unfortunately, my dad’s heart is so scarred that he cannot undergo bypass surgery. The doctors are hopeful that he can have angioplasty once he is healthy enough. This makes his recovery even more critical and urgent.
