Mike's Heart Needs Your Help
Donation protected
Hi, as most know, I'm Mike Emery's significant other/fiancé. This January, Mike experienced a major heart attack. He was flown to Bangor that day within an hour and a half of being at the Calais hospital. While he was in Bangor, he had a catheter procedure to drain fluid from around his heart, which made him feel so much better for a short time. After a week in Bangor, Mike had triple bypass surgery. That went okay, but then Mike wasn't feeling well. So, Mike was sent back to Bangor where they did another procedure and saw that one of his bypasses wasn't in an artery. They also found that he now has an aneurysm on his heart. To correct the situation, while they were looking around, they put in a stent. Mike was able to go home after a couple of days. Mike was doing okay until he didn't feel well again, so back to Bangor we went after an ER visit. Mike needed to have another catheter procedure, which involved a coil being put in to redirect the blood flow. Mike is currently wearing a defibrillator life vest with the hope of giving his heart enough time to heal to either have an internal defibrillator put in or his heart will move past a certain percentage and won't need the internal defibrillator.
At this time, Mike is out of work as well as myself. Mike needed to have someone with him as he couldn't lift anything heavier than a gallon of milk. He cannot stress out his body or mind right now, so I decided that the best place for me was to care for him.
The money donated will go to travel to and from appointments, bills, and any copays needed at the doctor's offices.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and donating. If you are unable to donate, a share would be very appreciated.
We are very thankful for all of you.
