Mike's Final Wishes Fundraiser

Donation protected

Hello,

Many know but for some this will come as shocking news. After many grueling months stretching over a year and a half, the cancer diagnosis was finally made for Mike. As doctors dug deeper into his case they discovered the cancer is on both sides of his brain stem, spiraling down his spine to the lower regions of his neck.

We were told this cancer is not related to his 2009 cancer. More shocking is that the cancer has been there since 2015. The impairments he has sustained are related to nerve damage to his brain stem. The damage is permanent and the cancer is terminal.

After being asked countless times, how can we help? We have decided that a go fund me page is the best route.

Gosh it’s hard to accept help. It’s something we are all trying really hard to work on. But ya know, my dad was ALWAYS the first to help anyone that needed something, anything! Half the time he helped you before you even knew you needed help. It’s the trait I admire the most about him, he’s a giver and expects absolutely nothing in return.

Seeing our village show up for him in return for all those times he has helped them is powerful.

For all of you that have helped so far, THANK YOU! Thank you for the meals, for helping my Mom with tasks that my Dad normally did, for the whiskey, for the heartfelt messages, for checking in on my Mom and for stopping by to visit him. We love all of you for following along with us on this journey.

The money raised here will help to accomplish some of his last bucket list wishes, which include catching a salmon, visiting Alaska and one last trip to Reno to hit a couple slot machines.

For those of you who know Mike, you know that he is simple. He doesn’t ask for anything, ever. My mom is doing her best to make sure his last wishes are fulfilled while still planning for the future.

All donations, well wishes, prayers, good vibes, and visitors are greatly appreciated.

Lastly, I encourage you today to tell the people in your life you love them. Give them a hug. Tell them what they mean to you. Because y’all life is short. So dang short!

Oh and f*** cancer!

Thank you for visiting his page.

Hugs - Ashley
