Mike's Fight Against Hodgkin's Lymphoma

On February 19, Mike was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Hodgkin’s Lymphoma is a type of cancer that affects the lymphatic system, which is part of our body’s immune system. Mike first noticed an enlarged lymph node in his neck in January, and after consulting with his doctor was recommended to receive an ultrasound and biopsy which ultimately led to his diagnosis.

Hodgkin’s Lymphoma is a highly curable type of cancer however does require a lengthy treatment regimen of chemotherapy. Mike has quickly learned that fighting cancer is not only a physical and emotional battle, but also a financial one. In addition to a significant monthly premium, Mike is required to pay a large out of pocket deductible prior to receiving any insurance coverage. Any donations will be used to directly pay for Mike’s medical bills.

Mike is a physical therapist and has continued to work hard to provide support and healing to his patients who are often fighting their own battles against cancer while still managing his own physical and mental health. Anyone who has interacted with Mike knows that he is a compassionate, kind hearted individual who always shows up for his friends and family. He is a joy to be around. As Mike’s partner, I am astounded by his resilience and willingness to provide me with comfort during one of the toughest battles of his life. Mike is more than deserving of all of the support he so consistently gives to those around him.
