Mike has been dealing with brain cancer since 2015. 5 years ago he was diagnosed, specifically AA3 (anaplastic Astrocytoma grade 3). He underwent chemo and radiation.
Exactly one year ago, he had his second reoccurrence, and unfortunately it jumped up to the worst case scenario, Glioblastoma grade 4. The doctors say he has a 10% survival rate if he lives for 5 years (and he has been kicking ass, defying the odds). Recently, we got the worst news- the tumor grew back, very aggressively, and has spread throughout his brain. It is deemed inoperable. We have him on treatment, once again. He is hooked on an Optune machine, and we drive to UCLA every three weeks for immunotherapy. Mike has lost the ability to walk, talk, and perform basic functions. We have brought in home health care. It has been emotionally and financially overwhelming for the whole family. If you feel in your heart the desire to help, anything is appreciated.
**UPDATE**
Mike took his final MRI and we got the results yesterday, 1/11/2021. Our doctor gave our family the news that we will not be able to reverse any symptoms, regardless of treatment. We were told that it is time to end all forms of treatment, and Mikey will now begin hospice care as of today. We were also told to expect a quick decline in my brother. This news has broken our hearts, and our family will not be working during this time. We are working around the clock to keep him comfortable, and want to spend every moment by his side. All donations will be used to keep my family afloat while we survive this incredibly difficult time.
