My name is Jennifer and I’m the daughter-in-law of Mike Hale. As some of you may know (and some may not), Mike was diagnosed with prostate cancer 2 years ago. He’s been lucky that the cancer was contained to the prostate, but unfortunately it is spreading. He and his doctor have made the decision that it’s for the best to have the prostrate removed. He will be off work for 4-6 weeks. As the main source of income for his household and as a self-employed painter, this recovery period has been a source of stress for him. Anyone who’s met Mike knows he works constantly (when he’s not playing with his grandson, Luke) and can often be found well into the night still on the job “just finishing up this one last spot.” I’m starting this fundraiser to hopefully raise enough money to cover his monthly bills while he is recovering from the surgery. Mike always goes above and beyond for anyone in need, so now is the time to repay his kindness. I’d also like to ease his financial burden enough to keep him from trying to go back to work early!
