Mikes Brain Cancer (GBM) Journey

My dad (Mike) was feeling a bit “off.” For a man who is never sick and who has been a total workaholic all his life, I insisted he go to the ER. CT scan showed a large tumor on his brain. Very last thing any of us could have expected. Our worst fears were realized after surgery to attempt to remove the tumor that it was an aggressive form of brain cancer - Glioblastoma. I have researched and tried to learn as much as I can about this type of cancer. I know that the road ahead will be a hard, diligent and hopefully successful one. He will need radiation, chemo and there are clinical trials we can attempt to get him into. My dad is a very proud man who has always walked very close to God. Never in our wildest dreams did we expect to be dealing with this. He is lucky to have insurance, but there are many things that will not be covered, including extensive travel for treatments; and any supplements or clinical trials.
