Mike's Battle with Parkinson's: Your Help Counts
Donation protected
UPDATE #2: Mike was able to pay his unexpected bill for his last session in full today!! The rest will go towards his next session / his deductible. He is so grateful and so am I!!
UPDATE:
From Mike: "I'm overwhelmed. Legitimately stunned. Thank you all." From the bottom of our hearts, thank you all so much. Mike felt a bit uncomfortable about my idea to do a gofundme to help with his expenses, but he didn't tell me not to do it, so I did (lol)! We are both so thankful and overwhelmed with your support and kindness. Please know that you have helped my brother feel more stable and less stressed as he navigates his Parkinson’s journey.
He will use the first $3,250 to pay for his outstanding out-of-pocket costs for his last session, and will use any subsequent funds for future sessions.

Many of you have heard me talk about my brother Mike (aka: "Dude"). He's one of the funniest and bravest people I know. He underwent brain surgery in 2022 at the Mayo Clinic to implant electronic leads that would help him manage his early-onset Parkinson's symptoms, which have affected his ability to move around, play his music, ride a bike since he was a teen - basically many things we take for granted. Since his initial surgery, he has had to go back in multiple times to have the leads activated and then programmed to see if they can make them work even better. It's a grueling process both physically and emotionally.
Our health insurance system leaves a lot to be desired, and his insurance only covers $430.95 of the $3,681 total cost of his programming sessions. So each session costs him $3,250. Please help him pay for his programming expenses and get on the road to being financially stable after his many health setbacks.
