mike peters' cancer treatments

My friend Mike is battling Melanoma yet again, for the 5th time in 9 years. He was first diagnosed as Stage III in December of 2007. He underwent surgery and chemo then, and again in 2012 when the cancer returned. In 2014, he underwent surgery and radiation for another recurrence, and surgery in December 2015 for his 4th recurrence. His melanoma returned in August of 2016. He is now traveling from Dallas to Houston to be treated at MD Anderson. He is receiving four rounds of chemo every 3 weeks, and will then be on maintenance chemo every two weeks for as long as he can tolerate the drugs. He will require PET Scans and CT scans at MD Anderson every three months. The travel for treatment and scans is at Mike's expense, and insurance does not cover the full costs of the chemo. As of now, there is no cure for Melanoma, although MD Anderson is making huge strides against this deadly form of cancer. Bottom line - Mike is the last person who would ever ask for help, but is the first one there for you whenever you are in need.
