Hello friends and family!
Thank you for your interest in this GoFundMe account. We are raising money to cover expenses for Mike Orosco's treatment and recovery!
Wednesday, May 13, 2020, he suffered a major stroke and was life flighted to a hospital near Houston, Texas. Upon arrival, he underwent emergency surgery to remove a blood clot from a main artery in his neck. A stent was then put in the artery to allow clear blood flow to his brain, which was without blood for quite some time.
Since then, doctors and nurses have been monitoring his progress and working with him to determine what his physical and mental capabilities are and to determine the extend of any damage that has been done.
He is having to relearn how to walk, talk, feed himself, and more. We have seen a lot of progress since his initial arrival to the hospital, which is hopeful!
His family is currently working on getting him into an inpatient rehabilitation facility where he can receive the best possible treatment for physical and speech therapy to regain his normal functions.
We are raising money to help bridge the gap and finance his treatment, hospital stay, and rehab.
We are still unsure what the total medical expenses will be, but are so grateful for any amount you are willing and able to give. Please follow along on my updates on his recovery below!!
