Mike Nielsen, a father, husband and friend to so many, has been diagnosed with bile duct cancer.  Bile duct cancer is a rare form of cancer and affects many organs in the body.   Mike went into Beth Israel Hospital yesterday morning for an operation.  The Doctors were going to try and resect the cancer.  Unfortunaetly,  it was determined that the cancer is situated in an area of the bile duct that involves the liver and was inoperable. Needless to say the Dr.s were unable to remove the cancer and are looking towards chemotherapy as the next option.  

My husband Duke Spring is a long time friend of Mike's and we would like to ask his friends, old and new, friends of friends, neighbors and  co-workers to pitch in, whatever you can,  to help lessen the burden of his inability to work, Lynda's continued health issues and Mike's challenges as he steps into his new role, a patient.

Over the last year Mike has unselfishly taken care of his wife of 27 years, Lynda Ferrari Nielsen, who had surgeries and medical issues of her own to overcome.  She had open heart surgery,  a stroke in her eye and  and arthritis. 

Mike has lived in Marshfield MA his entire life.  He is a loving, kind man who has always has a smile or kind word for all. He is a beautiful person and I am sure he would be overcome with gratitude and appreciation for every penny that is donated to help them.
