Hello! My name is Amber. I'm starting this fund in hopes to help my mom and step dad through this difficult time. On August 29th, 2016 my step dad, Mike, was diagnosed with an aggressive form of lung cancer (small cell). The mass is about 7cm and is blocking airways in both lobes of his lungs. The positioning of the mass along with a partially collapsed lung has made it inoperable. He must undergo radiation treatments daily for this reason. He is currently unable to work. My mom is also unable to work due to the emotional toll the news has had on her along with the fact that she is his primary caregiver. Just like that their income stopped, yet the bills keep coming in plus all of the new medical bills. Their focus should be able to be on him surviving and beating this! Instead, they're selling family heirlooms to get by. They are not the type to ask for help and don't want to burden anyone else. If you feel led to help in any way we would all greatly appreciate it! They have a lot of driving to and from doctor appointments and treatments. One treatment can last as long as 6 hours! As you can imagine that doesn't leave much time for cooking or grocery shopping. If you know them personally even something like a gas card or gift card to eat could go a long way. One thing everyone can do is PRAY even if you cannot help financially.
