Michael Heath was recently diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, or Bone Cancer. As a result of this, he's also experiencing Kidney Failure. Over time, the consistent bone loss and deterioration of his Kidneys will necessitate both Kidney and Bone Marrow Transplant Surgery.
Mike is currently receiving dialysis 3-4 times per week, as well as chemotherapy. Along with the pain, which in his own words he "doesn't wish upon no one, not even his worst enemy," medical bills for treatment are mounting and have become unsustainable. The comfort of his home he's known for over a decade, and every possession of value is being sold to help pay for treatment. Every day needs like groceries are difficult to come by. Even though it hurts to walk, let alone stand, he still manages to work a scaled back 20 hours a week as a cabinet maker to help with bills. Yet in all this, his biggest concern is for Michelle, his wife of 18+ years, his 2 adult sons, and 3 young children he fosters.
The good thing about Mike is that he's a fighter. Take a look at the attached video. He's a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo, and one of the strongest individuals I know. But even Greek Gods have an achilles heel; the greatest warrior, chinks in their armor.
We're grateful for any friends, family, coworkers, acquaintances, and the kindness of strangers to generously help this gentle warrior. He can't fight this battle alone. Every single penny would go a long way to his road to recovery and kicking cancer's butt.
