My cousin Mike Gress is now living with ALS. The family is very aware of the challenges of ALS because Mike's Mom passed with this disease several years ago. Today there are many technical aides to make Mike's journey easier and to help keep him independent and active longer.
Currently he is wheelchair bound only able to walk with assistance, and is losing his ability to communicate. To help with these issues the family would like to purchase a complex wheelchair allowing him to remain mobile now and in the future as he continues to lose the use of his legs and hands. Also needed is an eye gaze communication device. This device will allow him to communicate his needs; if he is hurting, or if he needs his nose scratched.
Both of these will aide Mike to continue living a full life as best he can and also aide the family to help him the best we can.
This go fund was started because a benefit dinner was held and sold out but the family continues to be contacted with people wanting to help. Every donation will be put to good use including a wheelchair lift needed in the near future.
Lori and Mike are very appreciative with all the help from the community, friends, and family. They are completely overwhelmed with the response and send their thanks and love to all who have and want to contribute.  
Because so many still want to help the goal was increased to keep the account open.   All of these funds will be used to help Mike.  Again thank you everyone for your love and generosity.
