Thursday night (2/23/17) Mike suffered a primary cardiac arrest. Some call it sudden cardiac death, because his heart literally stopped.
Praise God, there was someone nearby who did CPR, but the doctors are still very concerned about how little oxygen got to Mike's brain while his heart wasn't beating for around 15 minutes. An EEG showed, "some brain activity."
Presently we are waiting for Mike to wake up from sedation. He has had some movements of his eyes and hands, but he is still not able to move or respond on command. These days are still critical.
Over the coming days and weeks, as we pray that Mike will have a full recovery, the Thackers will have additional needs both financial and practical that will come about. This Go Fund Me account is a way that we can pitch in to see this incredible family walk through this thing. The hospital bills will be extensive, and as Mike has been in critical condition, family and friends have been helping to care for the girls as well.
