As most of you already know Mike Natalie suffered a stroke on April 3rd and had to have a craniotomy.  It has left him in a wheel chair with no use of his left side.  He will no longer be able to work and also as a result I lost my job of 21 years.  He was uninsured at the time but we were able to get him Medicaid but it has very limited coverage and providers .  Due to that he spent a month in the hospital awaiting a rehab facility that would accept it.  When he did finally get in the rehab insurance had it limits there also and even though he was starting to make improvements insurance wouldnt pay any longer.  So we have been home since June 3rd and have been trying to make accomadations to our home and life to benefit Mike.  He was approved for long term care on August 1st which was to cover home health, physical therapy, occupational therapy and home modifications.  To date the only benefit he is receiving is home health. We have been paying out of pocket for physical therapy for the last month and he has had no occupational therapy since the rehab. He is having a very hard time manuvering around the house especially getting into the bathroom on his own.  All of these things we have been waiting and arguing with the insurance for since August hoping they are going to cover.  This has taken a physical, emotional and finacial impact on our family.  We are trying to manage but it is hard on all. I have been trying to find programs and grants that might help but havent had any luck.
