Mike's headstone

Just contemplating what to write here makes me cry. How do I put into words the emotions remembering such a kind, selfless, gentle soul brings out? This man was and forever will be the love of my life! Mike was one of the most unselfish people I've ever encountered. He went out of his way to help whenever he could... even when that meant canceling our plans or running out in the dead of the night. Everyone who knew Mike knows this all too well!
He avoided confrontation when he could and always tried to make the best of a bad situation. Mike loved fiercely and enjoyed every opportunity that was ever afforded him... regardless of how small. Kindness and generosity was never something he took for granted. His family and friends were the most important things in his life. I can't tell you how many times he would tell me how fortunate and blessed he was to have every person in his life.
Mike always thought he was just a blip on the radar but seeing everyone at his funeral proved his theory VERY wrong! He meant a lot to a lot of people... especially me!
So all that being said, we'd like to get Mike's headstone in before the ground freezes. I'm there practically every day and I hate seeing an empty plot as I'm sure his other visitors are. The monument company says it can take from 8-12 weeks from order to installation. We didn't want to do it this way but we also didn't realize the cost of the stone on top of the cost of the funeral! So anything will help if you can. Thank you in advance!
