Mike's Hike through a stroke and brain cancer

Donation protected
June 5th, Dad's perfect health changed when he collapsed suddenly and seized. This 911 call led us to all to a diagnosis of a brain tumor, oligodenglioma. Dad's life quickly changed. He began taking a holistic approach to his fight, and started to prepare his life and finances for brain surgery.  August 22nd, an all day brain surgery led to some unplanned circumstances. His brain had enough and he suffered a stroke at the end of this almost 12 hour operation, leaving him without use of his left side, some bleeding complications, and a long road ahead of recovery.  If you know Dad, he's probably one of the most optimistic people you know, laughter being his first medicine for everyone's circumstances.  His journey ahead will take some real strength to climb the mountains as he learns to sit, walk, eat, dress, gain full speaking abilities, and independence. As their children, we opened this account, not for you to feel bad for him, but as hope that when the bills start rolling in, his lack of income doesn't make him feel defeated in the rest of his physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual journey.  So many of you have already been begging to help, so just in case there are more of you, here you go! In Dad's discouragement yesterday, his High School friend, Rick, reminded him of their graduation motto "A journey of a thousand miles, begins with a single step" -Lao Tzu I think that just became Dad's personal motto... Cheers for Dad as we rally, behind him, on this hike ahead!
