On March 8th, Mike was admitted to the hospital due to dangerously high blood pressure and congestive heart failure. On March 9th, Mike had an unexpected stroke caused by AFIB. Prior to March 8th, Mike had been healthy and active. His stroke was a total shock to family and friends.
His wife, Tammy, recognized that he was having a stroke and called the nurses. Within minutes a stroke team was working on Mike to stabilize him. He was taken for an MRI and based on the results was transferred to a larger hospital. There he was rushed into surgery and a skilled neurosurgeon successfully removed the blood clot in Mike’s brain.
Since his procedure, he has been cleared by his PT and OT. He will need outpatient speech therapy to regain his ability to communicate effectively. The pace of his recovery is truly miraculous. Doctors, nurses, and surgeons have been amazed by his post surgery rebound, attitude, and will to fully return to normal.
Mike has owned a thriving pool construction and maintenance company since 1987. He has always worked sun up to sun down to provide for Tammy, his nine children, and six grandchildren. Due to his stroke, he will not be able to immediately return to work. His doctors estimate a full recovery over the next six months. This has introduced a financial burden and added stressors for him and Tammy for the immediate future. Additionally, they are facing sizable medical bills. His children are asking that you consider donating to their parents. If a monetary donation is not possible, they ask for prayer for his full recovery and for the miracles to continue in their parents’ finances. Thank you all and God Bless.
