Mike VanAllen

On September 8, 2022 my cousin and close friend lost her soulmate, Mike VanAllen.

Four amazing kids lost their father. Kendra (23), twins Carly & Jenna (20), and Lucas (14).

Mike was diagnosed 2 1/2 weeks ago with cancer. The doctors described it as "very aggressive" and wanted chemo to begin immediately. They never had time to even give it a name, it was "unspecified".

After only getting through the first round of chemo, Missy rushed Mike to the hospital, where he passed shortly after. He had just turned 51 that week.

The shock of this loss is indescribable. They were an extremely close family, and to many of us were the example of what family is meant to be. Adding to it, Mike had recently unexpectedly lost his father this past spring.

Mike has been described in many ways. He was definitely a joker, he was kind, loving and absolutely loved and was dedicated to his wife & children.

Mike was employed by Walmart Distribution. His job provided the families main income. The loss of that income will be a challenge for the family.

Missy & the girls, along with Mike's mom Cindy & sister Kim decided that in lieu of flowers, they would like to set up a fund for Lucas’s future.
