Michael McCarthy - “Mike the Knight”




In March 2019, at the young age of 52, Michael McCarthy, “Mike the Knight” received a diagnosis of Stage IV Oesophageal Cancer,  which had spread to his lungs and lymph nodes.

Mike endured chemotherapy and radiation treatments together with many hospital stays due to illness, including Pneumonia.

Sadly, after months of fighting,  our dear Mike passed away in the early hours of Monday the 28th October 2019.

The McCarthy family have faced many challenges since the diagnosis and have endured and continue to endure a roller coaster of emotions as they deal with the loss of their beloved husband and father.

Joanne has had to take unpaid leave from her employment, as she became Mike’s full time carer and support for their beautiful young daughters  Sophie (age 12)  and Layla (age 7).
