Hey everyone,

Mike went to his Oncologist appointment today (5/2). He found out he has Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer and he is starting Hospice Care today.

  • He needs our support now more than ever. Uncle Mikey is the hardest-working man I know. Even on his days off, he still manages to find something to keep him busy. Whether it’s a house to paint, a ceiling to spackle, a car to fix, a fence to put up, or a few pounds of seafood to boil, he’s doing it with all his heart to help out his family, friends and neighbors. I don’t need to say much more than that, because if you know him, you know Mike is a special man and an invaluable part of his family and community.

So please, let’s be there for him and his family when they need us the most.
Donate and share this GoFundMe as much as you can in support of our loved one, our friend, and our guy - Mike.

Love,
Emily Teague

Here’s an update from the man himself, Michael Teague: (04/22/2023)

Hey to all my family and friends,

I just want to give y’all an update on what is going on in my life. I’ve been sick off and on for about 8 weeks. This is pretty much the first time I’ve been sick in my entire life. I’ve been having chest pain on and off. It feels like a cigarette is burning my lungs – making it hard to breathe, which was kinda scary. Work took notice and eventually, I got sent home. I’ve been in and out of the hospital and urgent care here in Sulphur, LA and they did some X-rays and thought it was probably just bronchitis for a while, so I’ve been on bed rest for about 7 weeks with lots of steroids and antibiotics. But it’s been hard to eat due to the pain in my throat and chest and this last week things felt so bad I had Malinda drive me to the hospital again.

I could feel myself really struggling to breathe and here Malinda is just taking her sweet time getting ready and driving the speed limit at 30mph with me in the passenger seat suffocating@#$%^&*!!! But all jokes aside, we got to the hospital and all I could tell them was “Chest hurts, can’t breathe”. They immediately helped me out and ran some tests and told me I had a heart attack.

After the heart attack, which didn’t seem like much of a heart attack really at all, they did a heart catheter and they said it came back good. They did the dye and everything. They were getting ready to release me. They wanted to do a CT scan on my lungs and a specialist came to check me out and give me an answer. They wanted to do it all out-patient and they were even getting ready to release me, but then the doctor came in with the CT results and said “It’s not good news”. They said that I have a blood clot in my lungs called a saddle pulmonary embolism. They gave me even more news and said they also found cancer in my lungs, my liver, and my bones. I am currently on a blood thinner for the blood clot, for which my doctor said I’m lucky to be alive!!

We are currently waiting for the blood clot to clear up before we do any more tests on the cancer. I will try to keep y'all updated on here.

Thank you everyone for checking up on me. I'll take all the prayers and support I can get!

God bless,
Mike Teague

His loving niece, Emily Teague:

Even as much as $10 can help him and his family with medical bills and/or general financial support during these uncertain times. Thank you all.
