Please read Mike’s story.  He has NO health insurance.    Mike was speaking some two days ago.  He is no longer speaking, and doesn’t recognize many people.

Thursday,  2 weeks ago ,  Mike said he didn't feel well.  He said his kidneys were hurting.  He just drank more water.  That Saturday, he was at home resting, while Michelle, his wife, was at work.  Mike said felt like his skin was being ripped off.   I asked our Kids to check his temp,  and it was fine
Sunday,  Mike just layed on couch and in bed.  Michelle and he  a lazy day. Monday,  he went to work.  Mike is a truck driver.  He came home and was dizzy. Tuesday morning Mike awakened up and was so dizzy he was throwing up. He asked Michelle to take him to the doctor. They went to see his primary care physician.  The doctor sent him to emergency,  after doing an EKG.  It showed it had changed since last time his doctor ran this test.  The  Emergency room physician ordered another EKG,  MRI and CT.  They all appeared normal.  Mike and Michelle were in the ER from  10:30 am to 5:30 pm.  When Mike awakened Wednesday, he told Michelle things were good. Michelle went to work.  She came home and checked on him on my lunch.  He was still good. Michelle came home home 4 hours later, and he couldn’t recognize his eldest daughter, Samantha.  When Michelle asked him to call her name, he called her by her first name.  Michelle is her middle name.  That is the name she always uses.

Michelle called emergency services.  After evaluating him, it was decided that Mike needed to be life flight Nashville for immediate medical attention.  Mike was in the Critical Care Unit from Thursday morning until Sunday night.  He had a breathing tube, feeding tube, and was unresponsive.

Mike developed pneumonia.  There have been extensive tests run on him.

it has now been determined that Mike has viral encephalitis.  It is believed to have been contracted through a mosquito bite.

Mike will have an extensive recovery.  He will need physical therapy, and 24/7 care for some time to come.  The doctors are not even sure how long it will take.
