Mike Searles: Liver Transplant

 

 

Mike Searles is a charismatic and dedicated member of the local community and a loving advocate for the LGBTQAI+ community. Known to everyone as a free spirit and the easiest to make laugh, Mike was constantly on the move. From visiting friends and family to traveling to every country he could; Mike was unstoppable.

Until Mid-August when a 20-year battle with his liver came to a crux. Having managed his non-alcohol-induced liver condition for so long the symptoms of liver failure came stealthily. It wasn't until he began to suffer immensely did he realize what was happening. His husband, Kyle, rushed him to the hospital, and thus began a 3-month battle. With his condition fluctuating and his liver deteriorating, his kidneys are on the cusp of impact. His need for a liver is crucial and pivotal to the direction of his life. A life that has brought so much joy and comfort to hundreds, if not thousands, of people.
