On Sunday, April 12,2020 Tanya Lee Rector left this world taking with her pieces of the thousands of heart she touched.
Tanya was an extraordinary person. She brought love and light wherever she went. She practiced kindness in everything she did, and was at her most content when she was helping others. I could sit here all day listing all the lives she has touched.
Tanya lived for her family. Her two little boys, who are 5 and 8 ,were her whole life. She was so incredibly proud of them and always said they were here biggest accomplishment. She loved her husband, took care of her parents and doted on all of her nieces and nephews. She was always there for her two sisters, having their backs no matter what. Everyone knew they could go to her for a listening ear, a laugh, a hug or just to be enlightened by her beautiful smile.
Tanya went through a lot in her life and she clawed tooth and nail to persevere and come out the other side . She was a very vocal advocate for mental illness and helped countless people through very dark times in their life. She was a dedicated nurse with the VON and she absolutely adored her patients. Anyone who knew Tanya would not be surprised at all that she dedicated herself to others. Her heart was as big as the sky and the love she had for those in her life was infinite.
Losing Tanya dimmed this world. There are so many questions left to be answered. Why did this happen? Why only her? Why was she left alone down that embankment while the other occupants left the scene and walked away? Hard questions.. Ones that hurt, but the end result is the same, Tanya is gone, and now the world is a darker place, for anyone who has been blessed by her radiant light.
In this tragic and uncertain time, please consider helping out Tanya's family, just as she helped so many families in her love-filled 30 years on this earth. All donations received will go towards the cost of burial and memorial at a later date. Any amount surpassing this will help with everyday expenses for her family and/or futures for her two precious boys .
Tanya , we love you. Although you are gone from our view, you will always be with us, because to live in the hearts of those we love is not to die...
