Less than 3 weeks ago Mike’s world was completely turned upside down! What he thought was a minor issue was actually diagnosed as Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia! This is a very aggressive fast moving blood and bone marrow cancer. Treatment is just as aggressive and really tough. He had no time to think or plan the next steps. It had to start immediately. Last Tuesday he was admitted to the hospital to begin treatment. He will be admitted for 4-5 days every 3 weeks for the next 24 weeks. As soon as he starts to feel relief from the treatment the next round will begin all over again. He will have almost no immune system during the treatment. It’s super important to avoid infections during this time. With all this going on he will not be able to work. We all know Mike is the best contractor around but it’s hard, physical, dirty work. Which makes working impossible for the next 8-10 months. He is self employed so there is no corporate benefits to cover any expenses while he is out of work. He will have zero income during this time. Mike is very fortunate to be covered under Mary’s health insurance, so medical bills are not an issue. However with no income for 8-10 months it will be extremely difficult to keep up with mortgage payments and household monthly bills. Money should be the last thing he is worried about now. Which is why I’m setting up this account to try and offset some expenses. He just bought the house 2 years ago, I do not want to see him lose it while fighting the biggest fight of his life! Everyone who knows Mike knows that if you needed him to help you with something he would be first in line! I honestly don’t know how I would’ve gotten through the last 3 years without him. He has been mine and my moms angel. And I’m positive he would do the same for anyone in need if he could! I wish I could fix this but I can’t so I’m setting up this account and humbly asking Family and Friends to please help if you can. Any amount is greatly appreciated and will not be forgotten.
