Mike North’s Fight Against Cancer #northwins

Hi, my name is Kristina Hastings and I’m Mike North’s youngest daughter (Krisi North). If you don’t know my dad or mom (Vikki North), then you probably know me, and my dad’s story through my eyes. With all cancer stories, it’s been a rough journey. My mom and dad have worked really hard all their lives, both have been in the public service arena, dad half of his life in military or police/law enforcement work. He’s a very proud man - still refuses to use any sort of walking aid through this whole battle of chemo and radiation, and if you know him, that is no surprise! He doesn’t know that I’m putting this out here yet- because, well if you know him, you know! He doesn’t ask for help. But it’s been 8 months straight now of constant doctor appointments in Athens, Tyler, and Dallas, chemo, hospital stay with a lot of additional heart issues, radiation, and very expensive medications. Dad underwent 6 rounds of RCHOP chemotherapy, and is on his 22/25 radiation treatment. He had a very severe diverticulosis diagnosis in the middle of all of this as well as 2 bypasses from a previous surgery that failed (1 irreparable) and 1 in which they placed 2 stents. Medicare certainly doesn’t cover all of this and neither does a fixed income. I’m asking for your support for my mom and dad during this time, because they would never ask anyone - even me. But I know the stress of all the bills and financial excess of it all takes it’s toll on them as a retired couple that lives a good, country, simple lifestyle. I’ve seen bills adding up to over $500,000 so far, and we haven’t received all of the radiation bills yet. If you find it in your heart to help them out, please do. Thank you! Share as well!
