Mike Norkavage

On April 27th Stephen (Mike) Norkavage was transferred from Ed Fraser Memorial Hospital to Baptist Hospital where he was put in an induced coma and was placed on life support due to a ruptured ulcer and main artery in his small intestines that caused a massive bleed. On April 29th Mike was taken into surgery to have coils placed in the main vessel to stop the bleeding. On May 1st Mike started bleeding again and was rushed back to emergency surgery. He was given more than 19 pints of blood to compensate for what he had lost. They found that when he was rushed into emergency surgery they nicked his stomach and caused another bleed. Due to continuous complications and current infection they have added a wound pump and antibiotics. He is home but with many restrictions. At this time his current recovery time is 6 months and could extend longer depending on his wound. He is the sole provider for his family and  I am asking for our community and anyone who would like to help, please come together and help this family out. Any donations would be greatly appreciated.
