Dear Friends, Family, and Community,

Today, we are asking for help. This is difficult and uncomfortable to do, but I would do anything to help our family.

On Monday, September 12th, my cousin Michael was in a tragic motorcycle accident. One that almost took his life.

Michael was thrown over 150 feet, causing horrible damage; his right foot, torn off of his body, helmet destroyed, and head scraped severely. After being transported by ambulance to Froedert hospital, doctors performed emergency surgery to get him in stable condition.

Fortunately they were able to get him in stable condition and rule out internal damage.

After further examination, his ankle was damaged beyond repair and had to be amputated, his right knee is severely damaged and may need to be amputated, his femur is broken, his pelvic bone is completely shattered, his back is broken in 5 places, his hip is broken and he has terrible road rash on his head, where his head has a huge gash in it.

Over the past week, Michael has had 3 surgeries and is currently undergoing a 4th. There is 5th surgery scheduled. He is currently still in ICU.

Doctors are hopeful that he will be able to return home soon where he can begin his journey to recovery.

As he begins to heal, he’ll slowly begin physical therapy and be introduced to a prosthetic.

In this trying time, family, friends, classmates, co-workers and clients have reached out to raise Michael’s spirits and boy does he appreciate it! Together we cry, pray, encourage and cheer on Michael.

Wearing the helmet his mother purchased him; the one he promised her he'd wear while riding; that helmet saved his life. We could've lost Michael that day, but God carried and continues to carry him through; and for that, we are incredibly thankful.

Michael is remarkably strong, resilient and positive. With your continued encouragement, uplifting, love and support, the strength he has carried throughout his life will carry him through this life altering ordeal.

Donations would mean so much as Michael is an entrepreneur who will be out of work indefinitely for an unknown period of time. Let’s work together to make sure this situation doesn’t mean the end for his business and livelihood as well.
