Mike Needs Your Help to Get Moving Again

I never thought this would happen to me.

Last year I lost my long-running job in the insurance industry, a gig that paid well and gave me the flexibility to cover MLS, the LA Galaxy and LAFC.

A few months later I was offered a promising opportunity and lived in DTLA while working out of Los Feliz, but the opportunity eventually dried out and I've struggled to find anything besides part-time gigs and the occasional freelance article ever since.

As I used up my savings, everything fell by the wayside. I couldn't afford to drive to games, hang with friends, eat out...basically do anything. It was a brutal year, but I tried to stay positive through the tough times and remind myself that everyone is vulnerable to the occasional rough patch.

2025 has been more promising, however now my life has screeched to a halt. Over time I fell a few months behind on car payments, and recently my car was repossessed.

I'm devastated. I made 50+ payments on time and the majority of the vehicle is paid off. Without a car, working and socializing is basically impossible for me. There's nothing I love more than heading to the Digs and spending time with the Galaxy family, and now that's in serious jeopardy.

With time running out and having exhausted all other options, I decided to create a GoFundMe out of desperation. The $2500 goal covers the the cost to reinstate the loan and get my car (and life) back. Mini was nice enough to defer payments for a few months, and I'm confident I can find my footing again by then.
