Our dear friend Mike is facing a major health journey — a life-saving kidney surgery that requires months of preparation, travel, and recovery. While much of the surgery is covered by medical care, the additional costs are adding up quickly and are not covered. Mike will need to travel from his home to Vancouver for multiple pre-surgery appointments, and following the operation, he and his wife (his primary caregiver) will be required to stay in Vancouver for approximately 3 months for recovery and follow-up care. This means covering the cost of accommodations, travel, and daily living expenses away from home. In addition, with enough support, Mike hopes to help his kidney donor by covering their travel expenses as a way of giving back and showing appreciation for this incredible gift.
