Mike Mills' Quintuple Bypass
Donation protected
This Go Fund Me account is being made for my father, Michael Mills. Mike is a single father of 4, ages 21, 19, 17, and 12. Two of his children are currently in college. He is a person that is full of life, loves to be outdoors, and has a constant smile on his face. He is the most selfless person I know, working tirelessly to provide for his 4 kids. We have always depended on Dad to bring us through tough times, but now is the time for him to depend on us.
After having chest pains for 2 nights in a row, my dad finally decided to go to the emergency department at Williamson Medical. Because of his great health, most doctors could not believe that he had been having an ongoing 2-day heart attack. He was immediately admitted into the Critical Care Unit and was scheduled to have a cardiac catheterization the next morning to examine how well his heart was working.
At this time, the physicians at Williamson thought that the blockage in the artery could be fixed with a stent. After the procedure, they found out that not only 1, but 3 main arteries had 80%-100% blockage, and bypass surgery was inevitable. He would be transferred to Vanderbilt Hospital and have surgery the next morning, the morning of Christmas Eve.
After this whirlwind of events, on December 24th, 2016, my healthy, hardworking father endured a 5 hour surgery to fix his heart. The surgeon told us at the end that he ended up bypassing 5 arteries. My dad came out strong, recovering quickly. It was a Christmas miracle. Now, his four children are doing what they can to help him recover even faster at home.
Having this surgery has given us hope that our dad will be alive for many more years to come. However, we must ask a favor of our family and friends, as my father will not be able to work for an extended amount of time. We are so grateful for the Vanderbilt staff and all they have done, but medical bills are so very expensive. We need as much help as we can get. Any donation will be truly appreciated. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my dad's story.
Love,
Anna Morgan, Hooper, Bradford, and Charlie
