I don’t know about all of you but I am thrilled to see an end to 2019! It was a crazy year for many, and we are no exception.  As many of you know, my father, Captain Mike, was diagnosed with Stage 5 Kidney Disease.  The GREAT news is on the last day of 2019 we got a call from UAMS that they found a kidney! So, at 10:30 p.m. New Year’s Eve while everyone was celebrating, he was having transplant surgery. It was a fantastic success and in just a short time he is back home and stabilizing with his new working kidney.

2019 also brought a struggle for many in this area by way of rain and flooding.  The Russellville Marina had a summer season Mother Nature seemed determined to spoil. The flooding in May, the lake being closed in June, and all the floating debris in July and August made for a sparse boating season. Since this is when we make the bulk of our yearly operating expenses, we are really struggling to hang on to the marina.

The lack of income and the added medical expenses have completely wiped us out.  We are currently four months behind on the marina mortgage and the medical bills are adding up very quickly. In a last-ditch effort, we have created this Go Fund Me page to try to raise the money we need to pay dad’s medical bills and sustain the Russellville Marina. We know money is always tight for most people, so we do not want to burden anyone. Any amount will be a blessing.
