Mike Kowal Funeral

On June 30, 2020 my dad, Mike Kowal, passed away due to cardiac arrest. My dad was a one of a kind person and there was no one else like him in this world. My dad always found ways to make everybody laugh even when they were going through tough times. Although he had his moments with anger and would act like he was in a bad mood, he would do anything for the people that he loved. My dad was the best dad that anyone could ask for. Although he didn’t always get to see us because of his crazy work schedule, whenever he did see us he would give us more love and affection than there is in the world. We’ve gone on countless adventures rather they’d be to a water park or on road trips across the country, there was never a bad time with my dad. My dad was a paramedic, firefighter, and a flight medic for at least 20 years. He worked for Stat Flight, Lutheran Air, Lake of Four Seasons, Crown Point Fire Department, Loyola University Medical Centers Lifestar Helicopter, Laporte County EMS, Porter EMS, Tri-Creek EMS, Fagen-Miller ambulance service, St. Anthony Medical Center in Crown Point, Newton County EMS, and many more places. After saving countless lives and dealing with people he didn’t want to deal with, my dad was one of the best firefighters, paramedics, and flight medics in the state of Indiana. My dad had interests in photography and videography. Before he was a firefighter, paramedic, or flight medic, he loved to take pictures and videos of interesting and cool things he could find. My dad was interested in this since he was a child. Almost every night my dad would go out and shoot videos or photos of fires, shootings, car crashes, severe weather, etc. On the nights I would be with my dad, he would try and stay home with me as much as possible and would only go out if something major happened. While he risked his life going out at night in Chicago, he loved the job that he had. My dad unfortunately passed away unexpectedly leaving me and brother and any donations towards his funeral would be greatly appreciated.
