Hi, my name is Bj and I live in the Del Paso Manor area. I am doing a GoFundMe for one of our really good neighbors Mike Kelly . A week ago this past Friday he woke up in the morning to find that his work truck with all his tools which he had spent 40 years collecting We’re gone. When you are self-employed contractor, you can only imagine when your livelihood is stolen. Within a few days, they recovered his truck completely damaged and stripped of everything. Yes, he does have insurance. However, it will not be enough to cover all the damage that was done or to be able to replace all the tools that were stolen. Two days later, Mike got very sick and went to the hospital and thought he was having a heart attack, but they found he had sepsis so now he has been out of work with no sick leave and in the hospital not able to work. Let me give you a little backstory on Mike. He’s been a good neighbor to everybody in the Del Paso area. He has played Santa for a lot of the neighborhood kids over the years he gives up his time and spends nights going to Homes and letting little kids feel special because they have their own Santa coming to their house. He asked nothing for this. This is how Mike Is. My grandkids have enjoyed this every year for the last 13 years. During 2020 Covid Mike wanted to make sure the kids still got to experience Christmas so he and another neighbor fixed up a truck with a Santa seat and all kinds of lights and they drove through the neighborhoods loudly jingling their bells and kids were running out and grabbing candy that he would throw out to them. He wanted to make sure they still had their Christmas with Santa. Mike wears many hats. He actually officiated the wedding for my son and daughter-in-law 13 years ago. to know him is to love him and I’m grateful to be his friend.
