Mike Karras Needs our Help!

I am raising money to support Mike Karras (AKA: TURBO, TURBIE) after experiencing a major medical emergency on December 12th, 2021!
Mike went into urgent care after having difficulty breathing on Friday, December 12th, 2021! After being seen, they rushed him to the hospital where he underwent an emergency tracheostomy to save his airway. They found a mass inside of his throat. A biopsy was taken and this put him in the ICU!
He then spent two weeks moving in and out of the ICU and having to deal with so many trache replacements because the mass was so huge.
Finally, the biopsy came back and surgery was scheduled to remove his thyroid (they assumed Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis), all of the mass they could, as well as get another biopsy. This was on 12-22-2021 (HIS BIRTHDAY). However, once inside, the surgical team found tissue that did not match Hashimoto’s. They removed the right side of his thyroid and a golf ball-sized mass. They were worried it was cancer.
Mike then spent the holidays recovering at the hospital for a week on a ventilator. Due to holiday delays, he was left waiting for the biopsy results to come back to find out if he had cancer or not.
Finally, on January 9th, the doctors told him IT WAS NOT CANCER! But it is Riedel Thyroiditis, a rare inflammatory disease of the thyroid gland. He was told that he will have the tracheostomy for at least a few months (and we are hopeful it's not permanent) and as soon as he can manage everything and breath on his own, he can get out of the hospital. Mike was just released on January 19th and only because he advocated for himself to leave (OF COURSE HE DID).
WHY DO WE NEED TO RAISE FUNDS FOR HIM?
~ In order for Mike to truly heal, he needs some relief from his financial obligations which are listed below.
~ Mike had put his 2 weeks in at Zoom Care on December 1st, 2021. This means he is paying for Cobra for himself and his daughter, Lila, each month.
~ Mike is the sole provider for his brother that has Down syndrome that just recently got into a group home.
~ Mike has to pay overages for his mother monthly that is in a home with Alzheimer's.
~ Mike pays at least 50% of his daughter's expenses monthly.
~ Mike has no job as of today, and we have no idea how much the bill from the hospital will be.
Let's raise funds to help sustain Mike so he can put his energy into healing and finding out what his new life looks like with this new diagnosis. With your donations, we can help relieve his financial burden and show him that he has a community that loves him!
