Mike Johnson Needs a Second Chance: Lung Transplant Journey
Donation protected
My brother, Mike Johnson, is facing a life-altering challenge. He was diagnosed with COPD in January 2020 and is now in need of a double lung transplant. As his Power of Attorney and a primary caregiver, I'm reaching out to you for support.
Mike is a man of God and what you would call a true hero. He's dedicated his life to serving and protecting others as a police officer for over 40 years. He's faced countless challenges with courage and compassion, performing countless acts of heroism throughout his career.
Sadly, Mike lost his loving wife unexpectedly in April 2021. He's been through a lot, but his spirit remains strong. Now he's facing another battle.
Mike is a man of unwavering strength and determination. He's been placed on the lung transplant list at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisianna. The road to recovery will be long and challenging, requiring extensive medical care, rehabilitation, and constant support.
Here's where you can help:
- Medical Expenses: The costs associated with a lung transplant are significant, including medication co-pays, clinic visits, procedures, hospitalization, and rehabilitation therapy.
- Caregiver Support: Mike will need 24/7 care for at least three months after the transplant. This means lost wages for his primary caregivers as well as additional expenses for food and transportation.
- Website for Updates: https://sites.google.com/view/mikes-fundraiser This website will provide updates on Mike's progress and allow you to stay connected. You'll also find stories about his unique and fun personality, which truly shines through.
- Above All, we humbly ask for your prayers. Mike's journey ahead is challenging, and your prayers for strength, healing, and peace will mean the world to him and our family.
Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference in helping Mike get the second chance he deserves.
Thank you for your generosity and support.
