Mike Hynds' Medical Expenses

Margaret Hynds DeMello (Mike's sister) and Carrie Blackford (Mikey and Mitchell's mom) are raising money to help cover Mike Hynds' medical expenses. Mike was diagnosed with Small Cell Lung Cancer in September of 2019. This is the most aggressive and non-curable type of lung cancer. Median survival rate for extensive stage is 6-12 mos. The cancer has spread to his liver and other areas.
Many people have asked us how they can help Mike since his diagnosis. So, we have created this fundraiser to help ease the financial burden on him. Currently Mike is receiving Chemo treatments every couple of weeks. Additionally he has MRI's and Cat Scans. His insurance premiums are high and the medical bills are staggering. Therefore, Margaret and I have banded together to help offer Mike some financial relief as the COVID pandemic has also greatly affected his income like many others. In the future he will likely need in home care as well.
Mike has always been a silent giver to many. He has helped pay for a funeral for someone who couldn't afford it, helped families in need with backpack supplies, added "nice surprises" in Salvation Army kettles, etc., and donated to his church. Now he needs your help.
