Mike Munzing Got New Lungs-Now He Needs OUR Help!
Let’s Help Mike Munzing Breathe Easy....
Our friend Mike Munzing has been struggling to breathe over the past five years. Sadly, his lung disease was progressing fast...very fast.
Mike’s doctors gave him some devastating news just weeks ago - his condition was terminal and he didn’t have much time. They told him the only hope was a double lung transplant.
Mike needed a miracle.
Mike is a man of great faith and he knew that God was holding him in the palm of His hand. He never lost faith - or his great sense of humor - or his commitment to serving our community.
On Friday, September 18, Mike was added onto the UC San Diego lung transplant list. And on the following Tuesday morning, September 22, Mike got the phone call he was praying for...the hospital had new lungs for Mike.
We were all so excited and surprised by this exciting news.
Within hours of getting that phone call, Doctors were operating on Mike. The 10 hour surgery Tuesday night went well, it was a complete success. Thank God!
Within 48 hours, the ever-energetic Mike was asking for his cell phone - and he even participated in a ZOOM meeting!
We are hoping Mike will be transported home for recuperation and therapy sometime soon.
But now the realization has hit all of us. The cost for recovery is steep. Physical therapy and recuperative care is very costly. The drug therapy, made up of many anti-rejection drugs, cost a fortune. And many of these significant costs for therapy and recovery are not covered by insurance...they fall to the family.
That is why we believe it is time for the many friends of Mike Munzing to lend a hand - let’s all do our best to help Mike breathe easy!
