I'm a very old friend of Mike's. He has always been there when I needed him. When I found out he was having surgery at the end of November and would miss work for all of December I felt that I had to get him some kind of help. He has a 12 year old daughter that needs a Christmas and food on the table. I'm sure he will pay it forward once he's healthy again and back on his feet. He just needs to get through Chrismas and get started into January.
