Mike Garcia of San Angelo, Tx

On July 30, 2022, Garcia Family Patriarch, Mike Garcia, spent the evening at the house of his sister with his beloved wife of 58 years, Diana, not knowing that night would end with a life altering accident.
Mike has spent his entire adult life giving back to the local communities in which he has lived and spent 4 years serving our country in the United States Army. Having the opportunity to reach a wide variety of audiences with his television show, Hisponorama, Mike often invited any form of charity or benefit he could find to the program in order to spread the information as vast as he could to help any family in need with no expectations of reward for himself.
With such a booming personality, there has not been a room yet Mike has not lit up when he enters. A proud and humble man is a rare occurrence but there is no better way to describe the man that has done so much for others.
And now, the family of the strongest man we know, is calling on you to help during the most tragic time we have experienced.
Right before Mike and Diana retired for the night, Mike suffered a fall from a standing position that fractured 4 ribs, ruptured his kidney, and began to slowly bleed out, internally. Without much pain being experienced at that time, Mike and Diana decided to go to sleep. The following morning, the pain Mike experienced became so severe that Diana drove him to Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo, Tx. There, it was discovered that his internal injuries were so extreme he had to be immediately flown to UMC in Lubbock, Tx. Thus far at UMC, Mike has undergone four emergency surgeries. Progress has been one step forward and two steps back since he was hospitalized, but he has not given up.
Now, at 77 years old, Mike continues to fight for his life while in ICU and has been for over a month. A true testament of Mike’s courage, strength, and determination. While we will allow Mike to fight for as long as he needs, the cost of travel, gas, lodging, food, and countless other necessities has quickly added up for the family as UMC in Lubbock is a 3 hour, 204 mile trip, one way, from San Angelo. At this point, there is still no clear answer on how long it will take Mike to recover but medical staff predicts the next several months will be spent under direct medical care.
It is not an easy decision to make to ask for the public’s assistance but we are confident that the many, many people that have met Mike will know just how special of a man he truly is and find it in their hearts to help the family of the man that has tirelessly given so much, himself.
With the deepest gratitude, the entire family thanks each and every one of you for your prayers, help, and continued support. Even just sharing this page would be of great appreciation.
