Please help our Dad, Grandpa, Brother, Uncle, Friend....

Mike Funk spent his career of 40 years working in a power plant near Hillsboro in central Illinois. He is an avid ham radio operator assisting in many emergencies situations. He built his first ham radio at age 13.  He is a kind, considerate and honest man. He has helped many people when they were in need as well as giving and donating to many others. If you know Mike, you like him.

In June of this year his son Shannon tried to reach him and could not. He drove from his town to Mike's and found him unresponsive. He had fallen and fractured nine vertebrae, including two in his neck.  It was determined he had laid there for three days before being discovered.

Mike was airlifted to a medical center in Springfield, Illinois. He has been on a ventilator ever since. Mike finds himself in a very difficult situation. He is alert but unable to speak and cannot have visitors due to COVID precautions.  His Medicare has expired and he will soon deplete the savings that he spent his life earning for his retirement years. If that occurs he will lose his home that his great grandfather built and where his mother was born.

Please help his family and friends in our efforts to save his home and leave him money to live out the remainder of his life.
