Please help us help Mike Fisher with 8 months of housing, food, and transportation near Toronto General Hospital for his appointments to continue to prepare for, then have the double lung transplant. Mike has been paying for all the trips and stays in Toronto but his finances have been completely exhausted and he now need helps to cover the upcoming expenses. A partial CPP has been Mike’s only source of income.

Even if you can’t help financially, please help us get the word out to others that may be able to make a monetary donation. Mike has never done any social media so helping us to get the word out would be greatly appreciated.

• Mike has been a Driving Instructor in Cobourg, Ontario for 16 years teaching our youth to become safe defensive drivers. Prior to that he was the Lead Crisis Worker for Community and Family Services assisting families and individuals in financial hardships. Mike spent years in Health and Safety Management trying to minimize injuries and illnesses to workers.

• After years of exposure to multiple harmful workplace substances, Mike was diagnosed with severe COPD in 2010 and has fought a courageous battle thus far but the lung transplant is now his only hope. Having Covid 6 times damaged his lungs as well.

• The money is needed now so Mike and his support can move to Toronto to be ready for the call when a suitable donor has been secured, and to get through the long recovery process.

• The money would pay for housing, food, utilities, and transportation. Mike will need extensive rehabilitation therapy after the transplant, and will require specific medical devices and supplies.

• Mike and his support will need at least 6-8 months of housing.

• Any funds raised above our goal would be used to cover extra medications and medical supplies, as well as housing and costs if his stay has to be extended for any reason.
