Our dear friend, Mike Ferguson, is battling for his life. He has been diagnosed with cancer, more specifically plasmablastic lymphoma, a rare highly aggressive form of cancer that can have consequences throughout the entire body. Over the last several months, Mike has undergone an intensive chemotherapy regimen, both inpatient and outpatient. Although initially he responded well to treatment, the side effects have become grave. He can longer receive treatment to eradicate the cancer that is rapidly spreading. His heart cannot withstand the chemotherapy induced stress. With that being said the cancer continues to proliferate and has begun to impact normal function as he suffers from severe pain amongst many other complications. With all of these challenges, Mike has chosen to return home, to be with his beloved wife Theresa, family and friends.

No one can truly be prepared for the physical, mental and financial toll that a catastrophic illness can have. The man with the kindest heart, contagious laugh, who is willing to do anything for anyone needs our help. The past several months have been a huge financial drain on Mike and Theresa. This next stage of his illness requires care that is not covered sufficiently by his insurance.
