Mike Felton, a hardworking longshoreman since 1978 has faced unimaginable challenges due to two separate workplace accidents that resulted in the loss of both his legs. The most recent loss was on Aug 3rd 2023 after being hit by a machine on the terminal he works at performing his work duties. Despite the physical and emotional toll, Mike's spirit remains unbroken, and he continues to demonstrate remarkable resilience.

Mike's positive impact extends far beyond his professional life. His unwavering dedication to his family, especially his wife, children and grandchildren, has been an inspiration to all who know him.

In addition to his exceptional work as a longshoreman, Mike is also known for his fundraising efforts in support of childrens’ causes, with the help of his work place softball team The Steel Gate Hookers that he co-founded and also coaches. Mike has raised an unimaginable amount of money that has been donated over the years. With boundless compassion and tireless commitment, he has organized numerous charity events and initiatives to provide resources and opportunities for children in need. Mike's selflessness and passion for making a difference have touched the lives of countless young individuals in our community.
