Go Fund Me for Michael Elizalde. Lifelong resident of Hegewisch. Mike was one house away from his home when he was brutally attacked. (I hate to be graphic but a baseball bat was used). He is a father of 5 and just recently had his first grandson. He is one of six kids who was in rotation to care for our Mom who has Alzheimer’s. He was only two years into retirement, these were supposed to be the best years of his life, but now this time will be used to relearn life’s most basic skills. Injuries were severe and he has a very long road ahead of him. At this point we are still unclear of how his head injuries will impact his day to day activities. He will need significant physical and speech therapy. There is a very good possibility that he will not regain the eyesight in his left eye.
