Mike Delgado, a Signs and Signals Technician has been diagnosed with Synovial Sarcoma, cancer that is often found in the extremities (i.e., arm, leg, or foot). His tumor, located on his right thigh has been classified as stage 3. He will undergo 9 weeks of chemotherapy in hopes that the tumor will shrink enough to be removed through surgery. Following the tumor removal, he will undergo radiation treatments so that doctors can make sure every trace of cancer has been eliminated.
Mike’s friends, family and colleagues consider him funny, outgoing, approachable, and always willing to lend a hand. Longstanding traffic professional Mike is knowledgeable about all that encompasses the profession. He began his career in the towing industry, and for the last 5 years has worked for both The City of Pflugerville and The City of Georgetown maintaining the signs and signals infrastructure.
Let’s do what we can to support Mike and his family as he navigates this diagnosis.

Update - Mike has finished Chemo and has had the tumor (or as he named it Lumpy) removed. The surgery went fine and he is at home resting at the moment. In a couple of weeks, he will begin radiation on the area to make sure that every trace of Lumpy is gone.
